Living Hope began as a pursuit to connect with the people of our community in a way that led to God-honoring relationships. As a church plant in 1997, the leadership felt God calling us to unique opportunities to build relationship, foster community, and ultimately honor God. This pursuit has included meeting in schools for powerful times of worship and teaching, sharing life together in each other’s homes studying scripture and learning to follow Christ, and welcoming our neighbors to our “home” for recreational sports and community events. Recently, God has opened new doors for us to build relationships with our neighbors. In May 2013 we opened a brand new worship and community center for the purpose of pursuing connection on an even greater level.
Vision & Mission
From the very beginning, our vision has been:
Living Hope Church exists to bring people everywhere to Jesus, our “living hope,” that they may Honor God through worship, Offer love and support to each other, Pattern their lives after His Word, and Engage in serving Him.
Our mission remains:
To help people establish a real and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe the human heart was designed by God in such a way that people instinctively long for real community, long for a place to know others, long to be known. In addition, every person was created with the longing for, and capacity to know, God.
We will carry out our mission through relationships... doing life together, working together, playing together, and talking together. The greatest relationship of all will be explored, established and nurtured.
Our Collective Identity is one of…
(Matthew 16:25 NLT) "If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it."
(1 Corinthians 9:19-23 MSG)
"Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn’t take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it!"
We find life when we exchange our preferences and self-fulfillment for a life of surrender to God’s calling on our life. We offer hope when we voluntarily become servants, enter the world of our neighbors, and point to a life with God.
What We Believe
We believe that Jesus changes lives.
Because of that, we exist to introduce people everywhere to Jesus, our Living Hope, that they may:
(H)onor God through worship
(O)ffer love and support to each other
(P)attern their lives after His Word, and
(E)ngage in sacrificial service.
We're dedicated to the uncompromised message of God's Word, and at the same time intent on staying free from non-essential argument.
We are a Church of the Nazarene, and we believe:
In God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our lives can be transformed by the forgiveness of sin, and a "living hope" can be found that sustains us in this life and takes us into the next.
Far less important are issues of style. That's why we welcome people from all walks of life with all sorts of issues and questions. Our dress is casual, our worship is contemporary, and each message is designed to make a difference in your daily life because. . .
